Maisie aged 70 has been a motorcyclist all her life but lately she’s suffered ill health and can’t risk riding a solo motorcycle anymore. Divorced and with grown-up children who are financially non-dependent upon her, Maisie decided that there was no point being asset-rich and cash poor. With an equity release arrangement, we were able to obtain a loan of £18,500 against her main residence valued at £140,000. Maisie used the money to buy a custom-built trike – a three wheeled motorcycle – which she uses to traverse the roads of the UK and Europe, enjoying the freedom of the road along with her financial freedom.
